2. Information handled by this website
Information you choose to send
This static website currently has no account registration, checkout, newsletter form, or contact form. If you email us, we receive the address you use and the contents of your message so we can reply and keep an appropriate business record.
Basic server logs
The web server or hosting provider may process basic technical records such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user agent, response status, and security events. These records are used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and prevent abuse of the website.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently set analytics or advertising cookies and does not include behavioral tracking pixels. If that changes, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before those tools are enabled.
3. How the EdgeUpload plugin handles files
EdgeUpload is installed on a WordPress site controlled by the site owner. When a visitor uses a supported form file field, the plugin asks that WordPress site for a short-lived upload authorization. The visitor’s browser then sends the selected file directly to the cloud storage account configured by the WordPress administrator. The final cloud file URL is submitted through the form.
EdgeUpload’s operator does not receive uploaded form files merely because the plugin is installed. The WordPress site owner and its chosen storage provider determine where files are stored, who can access them, how long they are retained, and the legal basis for processing them. Visitors should consult the privacy policy of the WordPress site where they submit a form.
Cloud bucket credentials are entered into the WordPress installation by its administrator. Administrators should restrict credentials to the permissions needed for uploads, protect their WordPress administration area, and configure bucket access and CORS carefully.
4. External services
Object storage
EdgeUpload supports Amazon S3, Tencent Cloud COS, Alibaba Cloud OSS, Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, and Google Cloud Storage. A provider is contacted only when a site administrator configures it and a visitor uploads a file, or when the administrator runs the connection or browser CORS test. The chosen provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Freemius
The plugin includes the Freemius SDK for licensing, updates, and optional usage data. Optional usage data is collected only after the WordPress administrator opts in. Freemius processes that information under its own privacy policy.
WordPress.org
Links to the official plugin listing, download, and support forum lead to WordPress.org. WordPress.org controls its own processing practices.
5. Purposes and legal grounds
Where applicable law requires a legal ground, website security and necessary operational logs are processed for legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and available. Email correspondence is processed to respond to requests, take steps requested before a contract, perform a contract, or pursue legitimate business communications, depending on context. Consent is used where the law requires it.
6. Retention and disclosure
We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Server logs should be retained for a limited operational and security period set by the hosting administrator.
We may use service providers for infrastructure, email, support, and security. They should receive only the information needed to provide their service and be subject to appropriate contractual and security duties. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and service security.
7. International processing
EdgeUpload is operated from China, while website visitors, WordPress site owners, hosting providers, and cloud storage providers may be located elsewhere. This can involve processing information across borders. Where required, the relevant controller is responsible for using an appropriate transfer mechanism and providing required notices.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have the right to complain to a competent data protection authority.
To exercise a right concerning this website or direct correspondence with EdgeUpload, email [email protected]. For a file submitted through another organization’s WordPress form, contact that organization first because it controls the form and storage account.
9. Children
This website and plugin are intended for business and professional use and are not directed to children. WordPress site owners are responsible for deciding whether their forms are appropriate for minors and for obtaining any required authorization.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, plugin, providers, or legal requirements change. The revised date at the top identifies the latest version.
